Eye-Catching Bathroom Tile Ideas
Whether you favor bold brights or sleek neutrals, channel this design inspiration to create a spa-like oasis.
Spain, Morocco, Japan, you name it — the designers featured here looked around the globe to infuse a home's most intimate space with international flair.

INDUSTRIAL CHIC
Designer Deirdre Doherty gives a fresh look to this bathroom in an old Spanish Revival. By blending in a bit of industrial chic, the space feels totally new. (The wall tile is Michael S. Smith for Ann Sacks and the floor tile is Cluny by Granada Tile.)

CHEVRON FLOOR
In a New York City bathroom designed by Alla Akimova, the drama is really on the floor. Glassos tiles in Vetro Bianco on the walls and the vanity reflect light beautifully. (The chevron, composed of Dark Emperador and Thassos marble, was custom cut by Manhattan Renovations.)

BLUE-ON-BLUE
A Nantucket beach house's blue master bathroom gets its airy look from high ceilings and walls painted a pale blue. Designer Frank Roop drew the mosaic tile floor on a computer with CAD software, and Tile Showcase manufactured it in one piece, like a carpet.

VINTAGE GLAMOUR
In an art-deco bathroom, mother-of-pearl liner frames the Arpell Bianco tile by Artistic Tile.

BUILT-IN FRAME
A geometric design encloses the mirror and sconces in a New York bathroom, with tile by Studium.

YELLOW STRIPES
Glass tiles from Waterworks line the walls and floor in the guest bathroom of this California country home by designer Jay Jeffers. The amber stripes break up the space and add a note of whimsy.

DRAMATIC OPAL
In a New York City bathroom designed by Sandra Nunnerley, mist mosaic tile by Studium has a watery, pearlescent glow.

INLAID BATHMATS
The guest bathroom in designer Betty Lou Phillips's French-style Dallas house was inspired by baths in five-star hotel suites. The Monsieur and Madame "mats" are inlaid mosaics.

SLEEK SILVER
Designers James Michael and Phoebe Howard found the inspiration for a New York City apartment in the Hollywood hit Something's Gotta Give. The side-splash of Asher Grey marble tiles is from Ann Sacks.

LIME GREEN
Ann Sacks tiles stripe a California pool bath from floor to ceiling, giving the space a modern, unified look. To avoid breaking up the continuity, designers Heidi Bonesteel and Michele Trout frosted the shower wall only in the middle. "We love stripes, but we'd never seen them before in a wall tile. It's perky and different," Bonesteel says.

RETRO CHIC
In the master bath of a Andy Warhol-inspired apartment, Veranda Bamboo tiles by Ann Sacks are reminiscent of a fluted column and add texture to the natural palette

BLUE AND WHITE
The master bathroom wainscoting of Portuguese glazed tiles was installed by the former owner's decorator. "Aren't they gorgeous?" says Joe Nye. He slipcovered a side chair in a complementary blue-and-white linen stripe.
